I would like to get a huge tank and fill it up at home, but that is too cumbersome and I don’t have a house to store it. I have heard of gas banks, but I dont know of any that exist in the San Diego area. Are there any other solutions to lock in the price for at least temporarily?

I only have $1000 to spend on a car so it’s obviously going to be a cheap used car. I know that already. So I’m wondering what would still be a cool/sexy car but still be good on gas for $1000? Any suggestions? Except Ford, I’m not a Ford girl.

The price of gas was based upon the price of oil. The price of oil shot up not due to supply or shortages but because speculators were artificiallyy increasing the overall price. Like any other unregulated commodity eventually the market became top heavy and crashed, and fast. Most investors will lose billions of dollars and a few corrupt individuals will walk away with lots and lots of money.

Here in my little town outside of Chicago it’s $1.78. We’ve been having a field day with these amazingly low prices. I was wonderin how much is it in your area? Any lower than here? Is it supposed to go up soon?

I notice that the minute they lifted the ban that oil prices dropped. I know they ain’t drilling now but it alleviated fears of oil buyers that feared a shortage thus driving up the price with aggressive bidding. The lift of the ban helped and thanks to republicans in congress oil is beginning to go down.
